PEOPLE
Matt Casarino is one of the greatest people I've ever met, and I am honored to be able to call him my friend. In addition, he's an insanely talented playwright/musician/actor kind of guy. Go read his stuff.
Dawson Moore took on the unenviable task of directing both The First Date and Another First Date at Prince William Sound Community College. He's also a great playwright and the coordinator of the Last Frontier Conference in Alaska every summer.
Greg Robleto is a brilliant web designer, who I really enjoyed working with for three years while I was the VP of Marketing at the Wilmington Drama League. He's also just, you know, way cool. ;-)
Adam Szymkowicz's play, Deflowering Waldo, is the first play written by an acquaintance that I've ever bought in a bookstore. It's the only play of Adam's that I've read, but I really enjoyed it.
Deirdre Flint is a funny lady folk singer who writes songs about deadbeat boob fairies and bridesmaid dresses. One of her songs inspired the title for my short play, Killing Schroedinger's Cat. Go take a listen!
John Shanahan wrote Waiting for the End of the World, which I directed for the WDL's one-act festival in 2007, and then the Delaware state festival.
PLACES
Brooklyn Publishers published The First Date in 2006 and is publishing The End, The Raft, Park Bench and Intervention in the fall of 2008. Go buy copies - I get a cut! :-)
Heuer Publishing will be publishing The Catharsis this fall.
Original Works Publishing has a non-exclusive contract for We Need to Talk, as part of their E-mail-A-Ten-Minute-Play program.
The Wilmington Drama League has produced two of my short plays and also does a lot of really cool mainstage stuff. In addition, it's the home of First Draft Theatre, a place where local playwrights can bring their works-in-progress for readings and critiques. I've developed a few of my plays this way, and it's been an enormous help to me.
Chapel Street Players has produced four of my short plays. They also do a lot of cool and challenging work. Go check them out!
Speaking Ring Theatre Company is a theatre company full of people I've never met but who seem really cool - they produced my first non-local production when they accepted Mundanity into their Vitality Playwright Festival. Check 'em out!
Shelterbelt Theatre has produced three of my plays so far - in 2004, they did a shortened version of The First Date, and this year, they're doing We Need to Talk and The Raft, all as part of their production From Shelterbelt With Love. They also have a short play festival around Halloween, called Shelterskelter.
The American Globe Theatre is the home of the Annual NYC 15-Minute Play Festival (co-sponsored by the Turnip Theatre Company) where I had my first off-off-Broadway production. They're wonderful people to work with; I had a fantastic time with this production!
Emerging Artists Theatre in NYC is a fantastic company - great group of people who are passionate about their work and produce really good shows. They've produced two of my plays now - Park Bench and The List.
Theatre Unleashed is a new group in Los Angeles, and they gave me my West Coast premiere when they produced The End in 2008.
